Had David and his crew come out for some roof fascia repair. They were GREAT! Great turn around time and really knew what they were doing. Did not push to add more on top of what I was asking for them to do. They repaired roof fascia and replaced two front porch columns all with color match. When they were up on the roof they even nailed back in more roof fascia that was starting to come off at no extra charge. I really felt they want to do the right thing.

We had David out for a couple of issues that came up with the roof and some siding that had come loose from a job done by another company over 10 years ago. David was able to fix our issues. He went above and beyond to help with the needed repair and took care of some minor issues on the roof. He was quick to respond. I would recommend this company to anyone who needs a new roof or is in need of repair to your existing roof.

David did a phenomenal job with my roof repair. He was very friendly and knowledgeable, going over exactly what he was doing and why he was doing it. Fair on price and fit the job in rather quick. I would definitely recommend him!

David has helped me time and time again! My roof is ancient and this year's storms definitely shined light on that fact. He fixed the leak in my kitchen coming from my sunroof and I haven't had any issues since! A couple years ago he also built me a beautiful deck that has changed my life. I definitely suggest this company and David specifically.

Common Questions

FLAT ROOF FAQ

How much does a new flat roof cost in Metro Detroit?
Most flat roof projects in the Metro Detroit area run between $7 and $14 per square foot, depending on the membrane type, insulation thickness, and access. We provide a free written estimate for every project.
What is the difference between EPDM and TPO roofing?
EPDM is a durable black rubber membrane known for longevity and proven performance in Michigan's climate. TPO is a white reflective single-ply that lowers cooling costs. We help you choose based on building use, budget, and energy goals.
Do you offer emergency flat roof leak repair?
Yes. We respond quickly to active leaks across Oakland, Macomb, and Wayne counties to stop water intrusion and protect your building's interior.
Do you handle both commercial and residential flat roofs?
Yes. We work on commercial buildings, schools, residential balconies, and small backyard extensions. The crew is fully insured for both property types.
How long does a flat roof installation take?
Most residential balcony or small commercial jobs take two to four days. Larger commercial roofs typically schedule within two weeks and complete inside a week of weather-permitting work.
Are you licensed and insured in Michigan?
Yes. Metro Detroit Flat Roof is a licensed Michigan roofing contractor and carries full liability and workers compensation insurance.
Are you OSHA compliant, and why does flat roofing cost more to insure than other trades?
Yes — we follow OSHA 29 CFR 1926 Subpart R roofwork standards on every project. That means written fall protection plans, personal fall arrest systems on all elevated edges, and full crew PPE on every job site. Flat roofing carries some of the highest insurance premiums in the construction trades because the work is performed at elevation on slick membrane surfaces. The cost of that insurance — along with fall arrest equipment and the specialized training to use it safely — is built into what you pay. The upside is that if anything goes wrong, you are fully protected. The risk of hiring an uninsured or underinsured roofer is that liability shifts to you as the property owner. We provide a certificate of insurance before any work begins, and we can meet the safety submittal requirements of commercial property managers and general contractors.
